Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you lose the 2v2 — Alistar's level 2 W+Q combo targets you specifically because you have no mobility, and Ezreal's Q follow-up during your knockup is significant burst that you cannot trade back into effectively.
  • Post-6, your R fundamentally changes the matchup: your E becomes a dash that lets you escape or reposition through Alistar's combo, and your sustained damage with Q stacks and crit passive will out-trade Ezreal in a prolonged fight if you survive the initial burst.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best trading pattern is to use W to slow Ezreal and force him to E away, then activate R and look for an extended fight where your Q stacks and crit passive generate more damage than Ezreal's burst — you win fights that go long, not fights that are decided in two seconds.
  • Use your R's E dash to dodge Alistar's W engage or to reposition behind him after he commits, turning his all-in into a fight on your terms.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Play defensively pre-6 and focus on farming safely — you are a kill target for Alistar's combo and you need to reach R without falling too far behind in gold or health.
  • Post-6, look to shove the wave and force Ezreal to either take poke from your W or lose CS, then use the wave pressure to create extended fight opportunities where your R uptime matters.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not activate R reactively after Alistar has already landed his W+Q — by the time you are knocked up, your R dash is useless and you will take the full combo before your Q stacks can do anything meaningful.
  • Save R proactively when you see Alistar positioning to engage, so your E dash is available to sidestep his W or escape the knockup entirely.
