Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose the 2v2 if Pyke lands his Q, because your only defensive tool is Q invisibility and Pyke's E stun will catch you before you can react at close range.
- Post-6, you remain at a disadvantage in a straight fight because Pyke's R executes you at low health and resets, but you can win if you use Q to stack poison safely from range and force Soraka to heal you through attrition rather than taking direct fights.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best trading pattern is to use Q to go invisible, reposition to a flanking angle, and then auto-attack from maximum range to stack your passive poison while Soraka heals you through the damage.
- Avoid ever walking into melee range of Pyke, because his E stun into Kai'Sa combo will kill you before Soraka's healing can respond.
Wave Control/Roaming
- Play for a slow push by letting Soraka poke Pyke with Q to drain his health, then look for a kill window when Pyke is low enough that he cannot safely engage.
- Avoid hard shoving because a pushed wave removes your safe farming angle and forces you into positions where Pyke can hook you without minion interference.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use Q offensively to try to flank for kills unless Pyke is already committed elsewhere, because Pyke's W passive reveals nearby threats and his team can react to your flank before your poison stacks reach lethal levels.
- Using Q reactively to escape a Pyke hook attempt is almost always the correct use of the ability in this matchup.
