Who Wins
- Pre-6, you have the edge in sustained poke because your Q and E outrange Blitzcrank's hook and MF has no gap-close, but you lose instantly if Blitzcrank lands Q at level 2 before you can E away — level 3 is your real spike since Q+W+E gives you a full engage or disengage toolkit.
- Post-6, your R gives you a reliable setup for Jhin's W and R, but MF's R is faster and more damaging in a straight all-in, so you need to use your lantern proactively to reposition Jhin out of her R channel.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best trading pattern is to use E to slow Blitzcrank's approach, then Q onto MF or a low-health target while Jhin follows up with W root — do not initiate with Q blindly because a missed hook leaves Jhin exposed to Blitzcrank's counter-engage.
- Use your W lantern offensively to block Blitzcrank's Q by positioning it between him and Jhin, as the shield can absorb the hook's pull.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should roam only after a successful kill or when the wave is crashing into their tower and Blitzcrank is recalled — Blitzcrank's roam threat is higher than yours since his engage is faster, so leaving Jhin alone against MF+Blitzcrank is extremely risky.
- Optimal roam timing is post-level 6 when Jhin has enough damage to solo-threaten MF if she overextends, and mid is vulnerable to your Q engage.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your Q as a primary engage tool when Blitzcrank is within W range — if you miss, Blitzcrank will immediately W+Q onto Jhin and you have no way to peel fast enough.
- Never stand directly in front of Jhin, as MF's R will hit both of you simultaneously if Blitzcrank hooks one of you and you are grouped.
