Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win this lane if you land Q, because Jhin has no mobility and Thresh's E is a slow-moving skillshot that won't save him in time — level 2 is your first real spike since getting W+Q lets you close gap and combo immediately.
  • Post-6, your R's silence zone combined with MF's R creates a near-instant kill setup, giving you a strong teamfight and all-in advantage over Thresh's more setup-dependent kit.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best trading pattern is to use W to close distance aggressively, bait Thresh's Q or E, then commit your Q on whichever target is out of position — MF's passive and E will follow up immediately for a full trade.
  • Never throw Q blindly into Thresh's E range without W ready, as a missed Q leaves you stationary and vulnerable to Jhin's W root and Thresh's hook chain.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You want to keep the wave slightly pushed so Jhin is forced to walk up to last-hit, creating hook opportunities in the open — a frozen wave under their tower removes your threat entirely since you can't safely dive.
  • Avoid letting the wave crash into your tower, as Jhin excels at farming safely under tower and you lose all pressure.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use Q as your primary engage tool without W already active — a missed Q on a mobile or well-positioned Thresh means you are a sitting target for 20+ seconds with no threat.
  • Blitzcrank's biggest mistake in this matchup is over-committing to hooks when Thresh is positioned to immediately punish with his own Q or E.
