Pre-6, this lane is dangerous for you: Blitzcrank's Q hook into Irelia's Q chain is a kill combo, and your W spell shield only blocks one ability, meaning if Blitzcrank hooks you and Irelia follows, you are likely dead.
Post-6, the lane shifts in your favor because your R enables Leona to close gaps instantly and the combined lockdown outscales their all-in.

Your best pattern is to stay at max range, use W to block Blitzcrank's Q, and let Leona initiate — only then do you step in to auto-attack the stunned target.
Do not try to poke with Q from range as your primary strategy; Irelia sustains through it and Blitzcrank will punish your forward positioning.

Push the wave fast with Q bounces when Leona has engaged and the enemies are forced back, then reset or look for a roam with Leona.
Avoid letting the wave sit in the middle of the lane where Blitzcrank has maximum hook angles on you.

The critical mistake is misusing your W: saving it for Blitzcrank's Q is correct, but if you panic-use it on a Leona E or Irelia Q in a chaotic fight, you will be hooked with no shield and die.
