Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win the 2v2: your hook at level 1 is immediately threatening because Jinx has no dash and Veigar is immobile, and your level 2 all-in with Q into E root into W slow is a near-guaranteed kill on Jinx if she's caught in the open.
  • Post-6, your R into Tristana E combo one-shots Jinx before Veigar can respond, and Veigar's E cage is your only real concern — dodge it and the fight is yours.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to hook Jinx when she steps up to CS in cannon form, since she's immobile and overextended, then chain your E root and W to keep her locked while Tristana detonates her E.
  • If Jinx plays safe, hook Veigar instead since he has even less mobility and a dead Veigar removes the only real kill threat on Tristana.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should roam after level 6 when the wave is pushed into the enemy tower — your R is a global setup tool and mid laners are often vulnerable to a hook-R combo.
  • The best roam timing is when Jinx is forced to recall after a losing trade, leaving Veigar alone briefly, so you can roam mid and return before the wave resets.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not walk into Veigar's E cage to chase Jinx — the cage will stun you, Veigar will Q and W you, and Jinx will turn the fight with minigun autos while you're locked down.
  • Always bait the cage out before engaging or approach from an angle where Veigar cannot place it between you and your target.
