Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you and Caitlyn win the sustained poke phase because Rell is slow and your Q hook onto Rell forces her to take a headshot trade she cannot easily escape — however, at level 2 Rell gains W which is a strong engage tool, and if she lands it on you while Samira is in range, the all-in heavily favors them.
  • Post-6, the matchup becomes very dangerous for your side if Samira has her R ready, because your own engage with Q into R can backfire by clustering both of you together and feeding Samira her spin — only engage post-6 when Samira's R is on cooldown or she is not in range.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to hook Rell rather than Samira, since Rell is the engage threat and removing her from the fight with your Q into E into R chain gives Caitlyn a free window to headshot-poke Samira who has no peel without Rell — hooking Samira directly is less effective because she can W your hook projectile and close the gap to proc her passive.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should roam post-first-back if the wave is shoved into their tower and Caitlyn can safely freeze or maintain — Rell has strong roam potential herself, so matching her roam timing or counter-roaming mid when she leaves bot is viable, especially since your Q hook provides instant pick threat in river.
  • Do not roam early level 4–5 when Caitlyn is most vulnerable to a Samira solo all-in with Rell present.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • The critical mistake is engaging into Rell's W, meaning you hook forward and Rell simultaneously uses W to knock you up — this double-CC chain on you gives Samira a full R window with both of you grouped and stunned, which is a near-guaranteed kill or double kill for the enemy.
