Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you lose the 2v2 — Aphelios with Calibrum outranges your rockets and Tahm Kench's W can eat your poke while Soraka's healing is reactive, not preventive enough to offset the sustained pressure.
  • Post-6, you gain meaningful kill threat with your R across the map, but the 2v2 itself remains dangerous because Tahm Kench's R can nullify your burst window and Aphelios's Infernum AoE punishes your tendency to stand near minions.

Synergy & Trading

  • You want to use rockets to poke from max range, then switch to minigun only when Tahm Kench has already used his W or is out of position — trading into a Tahm Kench who has W available while you're in minigun range is a losing exchange.
  • Coordinate with Soraka so she silences with E before you commit to an extended trade, giving you a window where Tahm Kench cannot eat Aphelios to safety.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Push the wave with Q rockets to maintain a slow push or freeze-breaking advantage, as a larger wave gives you a natural shield against Tahm Kench dive and forces Aphelios to farm under pressure.
  • Avoid letting the wave crash into your tower freely — a frozen wave near their tower is dangerous because Tahm Kench can engage on you while you're forced to walk up.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your E as a panic button after Tahm Kench has already closed the gap — by then it is too late and you will be eaten before the trap arms.
  • Respect Aphelios's weapon swaps; walking into Infernum splash or Gravitum root because you misjudged his current weapon is a consistent way to lose trades you should have avoided.
