Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you lose extended trades against Veigar+Ziggs due to their poke range and Ziggs' ability to zone you off minions with his W and Q; however, at level 2 if Nautilus lands his Q hook, you can burst Veigar or Ziggs before they retaliate since neither has strong defensive tools early.
  • Post-6, you win the 2v2 if Nautilus can land his R into your R, as your four-shot burst combined with Nautilus' lockdown deletes a squishy Veigar or Ziggs before their R combo can fully execute.

Synergy & Trading

  • Let Nautilus initiate with his Q hook, then immediately use your W to root the target in place and unload your four shots, saving your E trap to cut off their escape route or peel for yourself if Ziggs tries to disengage with his E.
  • Never trade without Nautilus' hook landing first — your immobility and reload mechanic make you extremely punishable if you engage into their poke without a guaranteed kill window.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Push the wave hard with Nautilus to deny Veigar his E stacks on minions, as Veigar needs passive stacks to scale and a frozen wave near your tower removes his safe stacking opportunities.
  • Avoid letting the wave bounce back to mid, as Ziggs' W and Q make it very dangerous for you to walk up to a frozen wave in their territory.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not walk up to poke without a clear path to retreat — Ziggs' W slows and knocks back, and Veigar's E cage will trap you in a kill zone if you overextend even slightly.
  • Your lack of mobility means one misstep under their combined CC and burst ends the trade catastrophically in their favor.
