Post-6, your R gives you poke from safety and Vel'Koz's R combo becomes a genuine kill threat, shifting the dynamic slightly in your favor if you've kept the lane even.

Your best pattern is to Q-poke Caitlyn from max range when Leona is out of position or has used E, then immediately E backward to deny Leona's follow-up engage — never commit to extended trades because Caitlyn's auto-attack range will out-sustain your burst in prolonged exchanges.
