Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you lose the 2v2 — Caitlyn's range and Sona's poke will chunk you before you can close the gap, and your W heal is not enough to offset the sustained damage you take walking up.
  • Post-6, you have a real kill threat: your E onto Sona or a mispositioned Caitlyn, followed by Hwei's R, is a genuine one-shot combo, but it requires Sona to be out of position and Hwei to be ready.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your trading pattern is to wait for Sona to use her E aggressively or for Caitlyn to step forward to CS, then E onto the squishier target — do not engage into Caitlyn's W trap, as it will root you and allow free damage.
  • Once you hook onto a target, use your full combo immediately and trust Hwei to follow up rather than trying to solo-kill.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should not roam early — your lane is losing pre-6 and leaving Hwei alone against Caitlyn and Sona will result in him being zoned off the wave entirely.
  • Post-6, if you have shoved the wave with Hwei, a roam to mid or jungle can create pressure, but only when Hwei has enough wave clear to not be punished in your absence.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not E onto Caitlyn when your W is on cooldown — you will take the full burst of her auto-attack, Q, and Sona's Q without the healing to recover, and you will be forced to back or die.
  • Avoid engaging when Sona has her E available, as she can disengage you mid-hook and leave you overextended with no follow-up.
