Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win the lane — your E seeds placed in brush or at lane entry points force Nautilus to path around them, reducing his hook angles, and your plant damage combined with Aphelios's range makes trading extremely punishing for Kai'Sa.
  • Post-6, you remain strong but must respect Kai'Sa's R dive, which can reach you even when you're positioned safely behind Aphelios.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best trading pattern is to pre-place E seeds before Nautilus attempts to engage, then when he commits his Q, immediately Q through your seeds to spawn plants and proc them on the hooked target — this turns their engage into a counter-trade that heavily damages or kills the aggressor.
  • Do not place seeds reactively after the hook lands; pre-placement is what makes your combo punishing.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should not roam aggressively — Aphelios is immobile and leaving him alone against Nautilus is extremely dangerous, as one hook without your peel means a free kill.
  • Stay in lane and focus on denying Kai'Sa's passive stacks and evolution timings by zoning her off CS with plant pressure.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your R reactively as a panic button when Kai'Sa dives — you need to cast it slightly before she reaches you so the knockup actually interrupts her combo rather than landing after she's already burst Aphelios.
  • Also avoid over-committing seeds in one location, as Nautilus will simply path around them and hook you from an unexpected angle.
