Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win the poke war because your Q and W range exceeds Blitzcrank's threat range, and Sylas has no reliable way to close on you without Blitzcrank's Q landing first; however, if Blitzcrank hooks Leona, Sylas will immediately dive you and your damage output alone cannot duel him.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a strong disengage or zone tool, but Sylas can steal it and use it on your team, so you should not use R aggressively in a 2v2 — save it as an escape or peel tool.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your pattern is to poke with Q and W from max range to force Blitzcrank and Sylas low before Leona commits to an engage — do not let Leona engage into full-health enemies.
  • Once Leona lands E+Q, immediately land W on the stunned target to maximize the lockdown window, as your W is your highest-burst ability in a short trade.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should push the wave with Q bounces to deny Blitzcrank hook angles and force the enemy to stand in minion clutter, which reduces his hook accuracy significantly.
  • A slow-push setup also works if Leona wants to dive, but generally keeping the wave slightly pushed toward their tower limits Sylas's roam potential and keeps Blitzcrank from finding isolated hook targets.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not stand in a position where Blitzcrank's Q can reach you — his hook range is longer than most players respect, and one hook into Sylas follow-up kills you regardless of your health total.
  • Avoid using W aggressively in lane as a poke tool; it is a short-range ability that puts you in Blitzcrank's hook range and should be reserved for all-ins.
