Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you lose this 2v2 — MF's passive double-shot punishes your immobility, Vel'Koz's Q slow sets up repeated poke, and you have no reliable escape without R.
  • Post-6 the matchup becomes more even because your R gives you a dash to dodge Vel'Koz R and MF R, and your sustained DPS during Transcendent State can outdamage them in a prolonged fight if Soraka keeps you alive.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best trading pattern is to wait for Soraka to Q-poke Vel'Koz first, then activate your Q for attack speed and splash, auto-attack MF or Vel'Koz repeatedly while Soraka heals you through their retaliation.
  • During R, use your upgraded W laser to slow Vel'Koz before he can land his full rotation, then dash with E to dodge MF's R channel.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Push the wave efficiently using your Q splash on-hit to clear minions fast and deny Vel'Koz free poke windows — a slow wave means you stand in the open longer and eat more skillshots.
  • Avoid hard freezing because you need gold to come online, and Vel'Koz can poke you off the wave if you are forced to stand near their side.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not activate R reactively when you are already low — R is your escape and your damage amplifier, and using it when you are at 30% health just to dash away wastes the 15-second window.
  • Also avoid walking up to auto-attack without your Q active first, because your base attack speed is not threatening enough to justify the positioning risk against MF's passive.
