Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you lose the 2v2 because Morgana's Q is a long-range root that you cannot dodge without a dash, and Ashe's W slow makes it nearly impossible to walk out of Q range — Maokai's CC helps but Morgana's Black Shield will negate it on Ashe, leaving you exposed.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a dash on E and a laser W that can heavily slow Ashe through Black Shield (it's a slow, not CC, so E shield doesn't block the slow effect), and your sustained damage during Transcendent State can outscale their burst if you survive the initial CC.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to wait for Morgana to use Black Shield reactively, then immediately have Maokai W onto Ashe — once Black Shield is down, Ashe is vulnerable to the full CC chain and your Q stacks during R will shred her.
  • Never engage when Morgana has Black Shield available and you are outside of R; your kit has no way to play through a Morgana Q without your E dash.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Play the wave defensively pre-6 to avoid giving Morgana free Q angles — let the wave push toward you slightly so you can CS under tower and deny her the range advantage.
  • Post-6, use your R to crash a wave and look for an all-in, because your R window is your power spike and wasting it on farming is a significant loss of kill pressure.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not activate R randomly in lane without Maokai being ready to follow up — your R is a 15-second window and if Maokai is on cooldown or out of position, you waste your entire power spike auto-attacking into Morgana's Black Shield.
  • Yunara players frequently use E dash during R to chase rather than to reposition safely, which leads to overextending into Morgana's Q range.
