Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose the 2v2 — Karthus's Q poke is safe and consistent, Soraka's healing negates your W stacks before they matter, and you have no reliable way to all-in without Swain's root landing cleanly; post-6, Swain's R changes the equation and your W true damage becomes lethal if you can stick to Karthus through the all-in.
Synergy & Trading
- Let Swain land his E root first, then tumble in to auto-attack and stack W — never initiate yourself because Karthus can simply Q you from range and Soraka will out-sustain any trade you start without a setup from Swain.
Wave Control/Roaming
- Play for a slow push or freeze near your tower early to reduce your exposure to Karthus's Q poke, which is nearly free damage on you in an open lane; only look to shove when Swain has his E up and you can punish Karthus walking up to CS.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not chase Karthus deep into his side of the lane — he has no escape but Soraka's E silence and his passive death form will deal significant damage if you over-commit, and Soraka can stall long enough for him to revive and turn the fight.
