Who Wins
- Pre-6, you and Vayne lose most extended trades against Karthus+Soraka because Soraka's sustained healing outpaces your damage output and Karthus's passive sustains him through your poke; post-6, your R gives you a massive healing and damage spike that, combined with Vayne's W stacks, lets you win all-ins if you can force Soraka to burn her R cooldown first.
Synergy & Trading
- Root Karthus with your E, then walk onto him to proc your passive pull and stack Vayne's W — the combo forces Soraka to heal immediately, and if she does, disengage and reset rather than continuing the trade, saving your pressure for when her heal is on cooldown.
Wave Control/Roaming
- Push the wave hard early to deny Karthus safe Q farming, since he needs to walk up to last-hit under pressure and your E root punishes that; once you have priority, look to shove and roam or force a dive with Vayne when the wave is crashing.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your E root reactively to peel for Vayne — save it as an engage tool to lock Karthus in place for a full trade, because wasting it defensively leaves you with no kill threat and lets Soraka freely heal back any damage you dealt.
