Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you have engage threat but Bard's W shrine sustain and Sivir's W shield make it difficult to convert hooks into kills without baiting the shield first — level 2 all-in is viable if you land E into Q chain before Sivir reacts, but Bard's passive roaming means he may not always be present to peel.
  • Post-6, Bard's R is a hard counter to your engage pattern because he can freeze Sivir mid-fight or interrupt your combo, so you must bait his R before committing.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best trading pattern is to use E to slow Sivir and force her W reactively, then immediately throw Q while the shield is down — follow with lantern to pull Caitlyn in for the headshot, creating a burst window that Bard cannot heal through fast enough.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should roam selectively — Bard is a natural roamer and will leave lane often to collect chimes, so when Bard leaves, collapse on Sivir with Caitlyn rather than mirroring the roam, as Sivir alone is vulnerable to your hook pressure.
  • If you do roam, do so after a shove at level 6 when your hook-ult combo creates genuine kill threat in other lanes.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not throw your Q blindly into Sivir without confirming her W is on cooldown — a blocked hook wastes your primary engage tool, gives Sivir passive mana, and leaves Caitlyn exposed to a Bard return engage with no peel available.
