Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Janna's disengage (Q knockup, E shield, W slow) directly counters your ability to follow up on Ashe's slows, and Varus's poke will chunk you before you can stack your passive for an empowered ability.
  • Post-6, your R is a game-changer because it can hit both Varus and Janna simultaneously, and if Janna uses her R to disengage, your R can still catch them mid-displacement and chain into Ashe's R.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to bait Janna into using her Q or W defensively, then immediately cast your E to root Varus and follow with your Q for the slow-into-damage combo while Ashe layers W autos.
  • If Janna has her Q available, do not initiate — her knockup will interrupt your E cast and waste your window.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should not roam early because Ashe has no reliable self-peel and leaving her against Varus's poke plus Janna's disengage is a death sentence for her.
  • Post-6, if you have priority and Ashe is safe under tower, a roam mid with your R to set up a kill is viable, but only after you have confirmed Janna's position in lane.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your E reactively as a shield when Janna's Q is incoming — save it as an offensive root tool because your defensive value is lower than your CC value in this matchup.
  • Burning E to block one Janna Q means you lose your entire engage window for the next 14 seconds.
