Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you have a meaningful level 1 threat because your Q hook into auto-W slow is a strong early punish, but Taric's E stun chain can interrupt your engage and Jinx's W slow makes it hard to stick post-hook.
  • Post-6, your R is a guaranteed single-target lockdown that Taric's R cannot prevent from landing, so you gain a reliable kill-setup, but Taric's ult still means the target survives if Taric reacts correctly.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to Q hook Jinx directly — not Taric — to force Taric into a reactive position where he must choose between stunning you or healing Jinx; follow the hook immediately with W auto to slow and stack your passive shield-break.
  • Do not waste your E on minions before a fight — keep it to interrupt Taric's E stun or to peel for Tristana if the lane reverses.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should roam, but only after pushing the wave with Tristana to the enemy tower so Jinx is forced to farm under tower and loses tempo.
  • Optimal roam timings are after a successful hook-kill in lane around level 6 with your R available, or when Taric has burned his R and the mid laner is in a gankable position — do not roam with Taric R up on the enemy side.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not hook into Taric's E stun range without Tristana being in position to follow up, as a missed hook with no follow-up gives Jinx a free poke window and Taric free heal value.
  • Avoid standing in predictable hook angles near walls — Jinx's W slow can bait you into overextending for a hook that Taric then punishes with a stun.
