Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win a passive laning phase because your W slow and rocket range let you poke Tristana safely, but a level 2 Nautilus Q hook into Tristana E jump is a genuine kill threat that you cannot fully negate with Taric's level 2 heal alone.
- Post-6, Nautilus R into Tristana R is a hard all-in that Taric's R can negate once, but you cannot win repeated all-ins and must respect the combo.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best pattern is to use W to slow any Nautilus hook attempt, forcing him to either miss or burn it on a slowed target, then use rocket autos to poke Tristana from outside her E jump range.
- When Taric's E stun is available, bait Nautilus into engaging so Taric can stun him mid-hook animation, then punish the immobilized Nautilus with your Q minigun autos.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You want a slow push into a freeze near your tower to deny Tristana CS and force her to overextend for farm, which gives Nautilus hook angles that Taric cannot always cover.
- Avoid hard-pushing the wave because Tristana's W passive clears fast and she will crash the wave and roam or dive you.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand in a straight line with Taric when Nautilus has his Q available — spread positioning forces Nautilus to choose one target and prevents a chain hook-stun setup.
- Never use your R aggressively into a fight where Taric's R is on cooldown, as Tristana R into your face while you are immobile in rocket form will kill you.
