Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Jhin + Pyke win most extended trades due to Pyke's E hook threat and Jhin's W root synergy creating layered CC that outpaces your single Q engage; however, at level 2 you can look for an aggressive Q-onto-Jhin if Pyke is out of position, since Jhin's immobility makes him a punishable target before Pyke has his full kit.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a reliable engage tool that Jhin cannot dodge with movement, and chaining your R into Jinx's R creates a kill threat that Pyke's R cannot match in terms of burst initiation.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to Q Jhin specifically — not Pyke — since Pyke can E away and heal back, while Jhin is immobile and takes your full W slow + E damage combo cleanly.
  • After landing Q, immediately body-block for Jinx so she can freely auto-attack during Jhin's 4th shot wind-up, denying him his highest-damage moment.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Push the wave hard early to deny Pyke his roam windows, as Pyke's value spikes enormously when he can roam and snowball other lanes with his R resets.
  • A pushed wave also forces Jhin to farm under tower, reducing his ability to set up W roots in the open lane.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use Q as a pure peel tool reactively — if you burn Q to stop a Pyke E hook, you have no engage for 14+ seconds and Jhin can freely position for his 4th shot and W.
  • Prioritize proactive Q engages onto Jhin rather than reactive ones onto Pyke.
