Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win the 2v2 if you land Q onto Smolder, as Pyke has no reliable way to peel for him and Jhin's W root chains your CC into a kill setup; however, Pyke's level 2 all-in with E+Q is dangerous if you miss your Q and are caught out of position.
  • Post-6, your R onto Smolder followed by Jhin's R is a near-guaranteed kill, and Pyke's R cannot save Smolder from your lockdown chain.

Synergy & Trading

  • Engage with Q onto Smolder (not Pyke), immediately follow with E auto-W auto to stack your passive and proc Jhin's W root, then let Jhin unload his full 4-shot pattern while the target is grounded.
  • Never use Q on Pyke unless he is the kill target, as he can E away and reset your cooldown window.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Push the wave hard early to deny Smolder stacks, as Smolder's kit becomes significantly stronger with stack accumulation and you want to slow that scaling.
  • Force Pyke to choose between roaming and babysitting Smolder, who cannot safely farm under tower against Jhin's long-range poke.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not walk up to hook range without vision of Pyke, as his E repositioning can cause your Q to miss entirely and leave you overextended with no escape tool.
  • Missing Q in this matchup is a full cooldown loss that Pyke will immediately punish with an all-in.
