Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win the lane sustain war because your W healing and Q poke chip combined with Xayah's feather damage outpaces Ezreal's Q poke; however, if Nautilus lands a hook on you specifically at level 2, you lose that skirmish entirely since you have no CC immunity and your W does not save you from his chain; post-6, you are the primary target of Nautilus R and must position behind Xayah at all times.
Synergy & Trading
- Use your E offensively to extend Xayah's auto-attack range during feather-stacking phases, not just defensively — the bonus range lets her stack feathers from outside Nautilus's hook range, which is the core way you win trades; save your R for when Nautilus has already committed his Q and R, not preemptively.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should roam only after a successful kill or forced recall from the enemy bot lane — your value is almost entirely in keeping Xayah alive and enabling her feather setup, and leaving her alone against Nautilus-Ezreal is a near-guaranteed death for her; if you do roam, do so after pushing the wave to tower at level 6 when your R provides the most roam impact.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand in a position where Nautilus can hook you and Xayah simultaneously — his Q onto you removes your healing and peel from Xayah for the entire CC duration, which is enough time for Ezreal to deal lethal damage to her; always position laterally offset from Xayah so a single hook cannot threaten both of you.
