Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you and Xayah lose the 2v2 because Caitlyn's range outpaces your Q and E poke, and Rakan's engage speed means your Q needs to land preemptively rather than reactively — the lane is survivable but not winning.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a long-range execution tool that Caitlyn cannot match, and combined with Xayah's R setup, you can burst Caitlyn from outside her effective range.

Synergy & Trading

  • Zone Rakan with your E to prevent his W engage, then use your Q on Caitlyn when she steps forward to collect headshots on minions — this is your primary poke pattern and forces her to choose between farming and taking damage.
  • Follow any successful Q root with your E and auto-attack to proc your passive twice before the root expires.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should not roam unless Xayah has a clear wave advantage and is not in danger of being dived — your presence is critical to preventing Rakan from freely engaging on Xayah.
  • If you do roam, do so immediately after crashing a wave post-6 with your R, as the cooldown window is your safest travel time.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your E offensively as an engage tool when Rakan is alive and has his W available — placing your E in melee range to poke gives Rakan a free landing zone for his W inside your own ability.
  • Also avoid holding your Q for a perfect root when Rakan is already mid-dash, as the cast time means you will miss and be left with no CC to peel.
