Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you and Yunara lose this 2v2 — Nautilus has longer hook range than your E range and Hwei's CC layering means that if Nautilus hooks Yunara before you can engage, she dies before you can peel.
  • Post-6, Yunara's R changes the equation and you can look for all-ins more confidently, but you still need to be the one absorbing Nautilus's hook so Yunara can deal damage safely during her R window.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best trading pattern is to engage with E+Q onto Nautilus or Hwei to force their CC cooldowns, then let Yunara follow up with R active — you are the CC sponge in this matchup, not the kill threat, so your job is to lock down a target and eat the counterplay so Yunara can deal sustained damage freely.
  • Do not engage onto Yunara's position or let Nautilus hook Yunara while you are out of position, because Yunara dies instantly without your peel.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Roaming is risky in this matchup because leaving Yunara alone against Nautilus + Hwei is a near-guaranteed death for her — Nautilus will hook her the moment you leave and she has no escape pre-6.
  • If you do roam, only do so after a successful kill or when the wave is shoved under the enemy tower and Yunara is safely behind it, and make it fast because Nautilus can also roam with his hook threat.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not engage when Nautilus is in a position to hook Yunara simultaneously — your engage should always be timed so that Nautilus's hook is either on cooldown or aimed at you rather than Yunara.
  • Engaging into Nautilus when he still has Q available means he can hook Yunara while you are locked in your own engage animation, which splits your team's CC and lets the enemy execute Yunara cleanly.
