Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you and Nautilus win this lane because your poke and CC layering punishes Yunara's lack of mobility before she has R — Leona can engage but she cannot protect Yunara from a hook-into-Hwei-combo if Yunara is caught out of position.
  • Post-6, Yunara's sustained damage during R becomes a real threat to you specifically since you are squishy and her splash hits you even if you try to stay behind Nautilus, so you must burst her down before her R window allows her to out-trade.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to poke Yunara down with your long-range abilities during the laning phase to bring her below the threshold where a Nautilus hook becomes a guaranteed kill — do not go for all-in trades unless Yunara is already low or Nautilus has landed hook first.
  • When Nautilus hooks, immediately chain your hardest CC and damage onto Yunara rather than splitting it between both enemies, because Leona is tanky enough to survive your burst and Yunara is the win condition.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Shove the wave with Nautilus to create roam opportunities for yourself — your mid-lane impact is high and a successful roam while Nautilus holds the wave can snowball the game faster than grinding out a slow bot lane lead.
  • Avoid overextending to poke when the wave is in a bad position, because Leona can all-in you if you are too far forward without Nautilus in a position to peel.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not try to out-sustain or out-poke this lane indefinitely — Leona will eventually find an angle to engage and if you have wasted abilities on poke that did not translate into kill pressure, you will be caught with cooldowns down.
  • Respect Leona's all-in threat and always have at least one CC ability ready to interrupt her engage chain before it fully locks you down.
