LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you and Smolder lose a direct 2v2 if Jhin lands his W, because your E shield buys time but does not negate the full Lux combo that follows, and Smolder has no escape.
- Post-6, you remain on the losing side of a straight fight, but your R-E on Smolder gives him enough speed and shielding to disengage, making it a survivable lane rather than a losing one if you play reactively.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best trading pattern is to use R-Q as a long-range poke on Jhin when he steps up to last-hit, forcing him to respect your damage and potentially burning his potions, while saving your E for the moment Lux throws her E.
- Shielding Smolder after Lux's E lands rather than before is a mistake — you need to anticipate the engage and pre-shield so the root damage is partially absorbed.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should not roam aggressively because leaving Smolder alone against Jhin and Lux is a near-certain death sentence given his immobility and their kill pressure.
- Stay in lane, focus on keeping Smolder healthy and stacking, and only consider a roam if the wave is fully pushed under their tower and Smolder has enough HP to survive a brief 1v2 window.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your E reactively after Lux's E has already landed and the root is active — by then the damage is already being applied and the shield is too late to matter for the burst.
- You must track Lux's E cooldown and position Smolder behind minions or at max Q range so that Lux cannot land a clean root in the first place, rather than relying on your E as a last-second save.
