Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win the 2v2 if Thresh lands a hook and you have axes up — your raw damage output at level 2 and 3 is among the highest in the game and Tristana cannot sustain through it without Leona peeling constantly.
  • Post-6, the matchup is closer: Leona's R into Tristana's R is a kill combo, so you need to respect their all-in window and not overextend for axes.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to auto-trade when Leona steps up to E, using your W to reposition and keep axes in the air while Thresh follows up — never let Leona land her E-W combo on you for free, as the root into Thresh hook chain is a death sentence.
  • Bait Leona's E with a fake step-up, then punish with Thresh hook and full combo.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Push the wave hard early to deny Tristana her preferred reset-and-all-in pattern — Tristana wants a bouncing wave to dive you, so keeping the wave near their tower limits her E usage and makes Leona's engage path longer.
  • After a successful trade, back and reset rather than over-staying, since Leona's cooldowns reset faster than you think.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not chase Tristana when she uses E to disengage — she will land, reset, and re-engage on her terms, and you will be out of position for Leona's follow-up.
  • Also, dropping axes to dodge Leona's E is correct, but never sacrifice your positioning so badly that you walk into Leona's auto-attack range trying to recover them.
