LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, Caitlyn + Vel'Koz wins the 2v2 due to superior range and poke — Vel'Koz's long-range Q and E combined with Caitlyn's traps make it nearly impossible for you to close the gap safely before you have items or levels.
- Post-6, you gain meaningful threat with your R, but Caitlyn's R and Vel'Koz's R both outrange yours, so you still lose a straight fight unless you land your Q to initiate on a mispositioned target.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best pattern is to wait for Vel'Koz to overextend or misposition, then hard-engage with Q into E stun chain — never walk up without a clear target because Caitlyn's traps will zone you and Vel'Koz will shred you during your approach.
- Once you land on a target, stack your passive quickly through Smolder's attacks to maximize the stun window.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should not roam early because Smolder is extremely vulnerable to a 2v1 dive from Caitlyn + Vel'Koz if left alone — Caitlyn's trap-headshot combo can burst Smolder quickly without you present.
- Wait until you have a clear wave advantage or Smolder has enough stacks and items to survive short periods alone before considering any roam.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not blindly walk into Vel'Koz's E (knockup) while trying to engage — it will interrupt your approach and leave you fully exposed to Caitlyn's headshot and Vel'Koz's full rotation.
- Patience is mandatory in this lane; forced engages without a clear opening will consistently result in your death.
