- Pre-6 you lose most trades due to Samira's superior range closing and Pyke's hook threat, but can win if you maintain perfect positioning with Calibrum.
- Post-6 the matchup becomes more even as your R provides crucial teamfight damage while Samira's R can be interrupted by good positioning and Sona's utility.
Synergy & Trading
- Use Calibrum Q to poke from maximum range when Pyke is out of hook range, then immediately back off before Samira can W-E engage.
- Follow up Sona's Q poke with Calibrum auto-Q combo when enemies are slowed and can't easily retaliate.
Wave Control/Roaming
- Maintain a slow push to keep the wave in a favorable position where you can farm safely without overextending into Pyke hook range.
- Avoid hard shoving unless you have deep vision, as Samira-Pyke excel at punishing overextended lanes with their engage potential.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never face-check bushes or walk into Pyke hook range without minion protection, as Samira can instantly follow up with W-E-Q for a guaranteed kill.
- Don't waste your weapon rotations on minions when enemies are looking for trades, as having the wrong weapon can lose you the entire lane phase.
