Who Wins

  • Pre-6, your level 2 W+Q is the strongest engage spike in the game and you should look to use it immediately at level 2 if Lucian or Milio are positioned aggressively — this is a genuine kill threat.
  • Post-6, your R makes you nearly unkillable during your engage window, but Milio's R can cleanse your CC chain and reset the fight, so you must bait it out or engage when it is on cooldown.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best pattern is to W+Q Lucian specifically rather than Milio — Lucian is the damage threat and Milio's kit is built to peel for him, so targeting Milio first wastes your engage on the less threatening target.
  • After landing W+Q on Lucian, immediately headbutt him away from Milio to separate them and prevent Milio from using E to cleanse your CC.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should not roam in this matchup — Caitlyn without peel against Lucian's short-trade pattern is vulnerable, and your presence is what keeps Lucian from freely trading.
  • If Caitlyn recalls and the wave is pushing to her, you can look for a river skirmish, but returning to lane before Caitlyn is critical.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • The most punishing mistake is engaging when Milio has his R available — his R cleanses your entire CC chain and turns your all-in into a losing trade where Lucian can freely proc his passive on you.
  • Also avoid using W+Q on Milio when Lucian is at full HP, as Lucian will immediately trade back onto Caitlyn while you are on cooldown and out of position.
