- You win pre-6 through superior range and poke with Q, but Ekko can all-in you if he lands W stun or gets close with E.
- Post-6 Ekko becomes much more dangerous as his R gives him safety to engage aggressively while your R puts you in melee range where he excels.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading pattern is Q max range poke followed by immediate repositioning, using minions to block his Q return damage.
- Never commit to extended trades - land Q, auto if safe with passive, then back off before he can gap close with E.
Wave Control
- Push early waves with Q to establish range advantage and roam timing, but avoid overextending without vision as Ekko excels at punishing immobile champions.
- After 6, maintain slow pushes to keep minions between you and him while looking for picks with long-range Q angles.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never use E aggressively for damage as it's your only escape tool against his all-in potential.
- Don't get baited into using R offensively in lane as it puts you in his optimal engagement range where he can easily follow up with his full combo.
