Who Wins
- Pre-6 you win convincingly through levels 1-3 by poking with Q and using your passive auto-reset to chip Yone down before he can ever get a clean trade; post-6 your advantage shrinks because his R is a hard-to-react-to engage, but you retain kill threat if you keep him at max range and have W ready to interrupt or displace him after he lands.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trade pattern is to poke with Q from max range, use your passive empowered auto whenever it procs to add consistent chip damage, and immediately W any Q dash attempt he makes toward you — never let him complete a full Q-auto-Q3 combo on you, as that is where his damage spikes sharply.
Wave Control
- Use your E to slow-push or freeze the wave near your tower when ahead, forcing Yone to overextend for CS and exposing him to jungle pressure; when behind, use W and E to quickly shove the wave and reset to base, as your wave clear is far superior and denying him farm is more valuable than fighting him.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not waste your W reactively on his E dash — save it specifically for his Q dash-through or his R landing, as burning W on the wrong ability leaves you with no displacement tool when he commits to a real all-in and you will lose the trade cleanly.
