Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you have a meaningful range advantage with your Q poke and W repositioning, letting you chip Talon down without taking his full melee combo; post-6 you are the stronger duelist because your R lets you engage, deal damage, and exit before Talon's passive bleed fully resolves, and you can reposition with your shadow to dodge his R follow-up.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to place your W shadow at an angle, throw Q to poke, then decide whether to swap to the shadow based on Talon's response; if he uses E to engage, you swap to your shadow to create distance and punish his cooldowns, never letting him stick to you long enough for his passive bleed to matter.

Wave Control

  • You want to control the wave by slow-pushing or freezing near your side of the lane, forcing Talon to walk up and take Q poke to last-hit; this denies him the ability to shove and roam freely, which is his primary win condition against you.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your R as a pure escape tool when Talon has his R available, because he can follow your shadow with his own R and land on top of you during your vulnerable animation; also avoid placing your W shadow in a predictable straight line, as Talon will simply E through you and cut off your repositioning.
