LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win level 3 onward by using W-Q-E to poke safely from range while Riven has no reliable way to close the gap without burning her E, which you can bait out; post-6, your R gives you a decisive kill threat that Riven cannot fully negate — her R shield reduces your damage but does not stop your shadow repositioning or your Q follow-up, so you still win the extended duel if you play the combo correctly.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to place your W shadow at an angle behind or beside Riven, throw Q through her, then E to slow and reposition to your shadow — this forces her to either take poke or burn her E to close, and if she burns E, you have a window to all-in with R before it comes back up.
Wave Control
- You want to maintain a slow or frozen wave state to deny Riven from freely walking up, because if she gets the wave shoving into your tower she can look for short all-ins where your shadow has less room to reposition safely; control the wave near the center of the lane to maximize your W shadow angles.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your R on Riven when she has her R active and full health — her shield absorbs a significant portion of your burst, and if you commit your R into her R without a lead, she can outlast your combo and kill you with her empowered Q and W; wait for her R to expire or bait it out before committing.
