Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose direct all-ins if Pantheon has W available, as the stun into E block negates your burst pattern and you have no reliable way to avoid it at close range; post-6, your R changes the matchup significantly because it bypasses his E block's frontal protection and lets you reposition behind him, making his W harder to land on you.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to use W shadow to reposition laterally or behind Pantheon before committing Q damage, forcing him to turn and reducing the effectiveness of his E block; short trades with W-Q-E-W return are preferable to extended fights where his stun and block will consistently out-trade you.
Wave Control
- You want to avoid letting Pantheon freely shove and poke you under tower, so match his wave pressure early or accept a frozen wave near your side to deny him easy Q harass; once you hit 6, look to roam mid after a shove rather than forcing a 1v1 you don't cleanly win without ignite and full cooldowns.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your W shadow aggressively if Pantheon has his W available, as he will simply stun you while you are committed to the trade with no escape tool; also avoid using R on a Pantheon who has Stopwatch or is near full HP with Hexdrinker, as the damage reduction will leave him alive to retaliate.
