Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win most extended trades due to your W stun into E passive block combo, and your Q poke forces Zed to respect you or lose significant HP; post-6, Zed's R fundamentally shifts the dynamic because your E block does not protect against his R's delayed mark damage and his shadow repositioning makes your W harder to land reliably.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to bait out Zed's Q poke, then immediately close with W stun and follow up with E into Q empowered for maximum burst; avoid letting him freely throw Q from max range without responding, as the HP deficit accumulates fast and undermines your all-in threat.
Wave Control
- Push the wave consistently with your Q to force Zed under tower, where his shadow-based trading is more restricted and he cannot freely roam without losing CS; a shoved wave also gives you time to ward river and deny his roam potential, which is one of his primary win conditions.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand still after using W, as a skilled Zed will use that window to reposition with his W shadow and punish you with a full combo before your stun is back up; also avoid overextending post-6 without Stopwatch or Hexdrinker, because his R all-in with ignite will kill you through your passive block.
