Scuttle Contest

At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you land your E to knock up and immediately follow with W slam and Q blobs — your total burst plus the knockup duration gives you enough damage and CC to chunk him heavily before he can sustain back.
From level 6, you do not have a reliable 1v1 win condition against him in a straight fight because his W makes him effectively unkillable during its duration and his DPS will outdamage your burst once he has even one item; instead, force fights only when he is low or you have a numbers advantage.

Master Yi typically runs a fast full clear prioritizing efficiency — he starts at his buff, clears all six camps quickly, and looks to hit level 6 as fast as possible before looking for skirmishes or counter-jungling.
He will not look for early ganks at level 3 because his pre-6 gank pressure is low without R, so expect him to be farming deep in his jungle until he hits 6 or finds a favorable counter-jungle opportunity.

You should not invade Master Yi directly in his jungle — he clears faster than you, and if he is at his camp when you arrive he will simply fight you at full HP while you are potentially lower from your own clear.
Instead, use your superior gank pressure at level 3 to create leads through lanes, then use those leads to contest objectives and force him to respond rather than trying to fight him on his own terms in the jungle.

Do not attempt to fight Master Yi after he has activated W — his damage reduction and healing during W is substantial enough that you will waste your entire combo window and he will come out of it and kill you.
Avoid extended fights where he can freely auto-attack you; your win condition is a burst pattern followed by a disengage or a kill, not a prolonged trade where his sustained DPS and healing will always outscale your damage.
