Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you can land your full engage combo — your CC chain and tankiness let you absorb Locke's Q stacks and E burst without dying, and Locke has no reliable escape if you stick to them with your passive blobs.
- However, if Locke pre-stacks Q on you before the fight and immediately follows with E-W all-in, the true damage from W combined with the burst can chunk you harder than expected, so don't fight in a narrow corridor where Locke's E dash hits you cleanly.
- At level 6, you win a sustained 1v1 if you force the fight when Locke's Q stacks are not pre-loaded on you — your R into full engage combo deals massive AoE damage and your tankiness lets you outlast Locke's burst window, after which Locke has no meaningful damage output.
- The sure win condition is engaging when Locke has recently used E, as without the blink-dash reset Locke cannot reposition or escape your lockdown, and your healing from passive blobs keeps you alive through the W true damage.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Locke will most likely run a standard full clear starting at a buff, prioritizing camps that let them stack Q passively on monsters before transitioning — expect them to path toward scuttle around level 3 with Q already partially stacked, looking to poke you before committing to a fight.
- Watch for Locke taking the opposite-side scuttle first if they feel unsafe against you, as their kit rewards patience and they will avoid a direct fight unless they have full Q stacks and E available.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Locke's second buff at approximately 3:15–3:30 if you started opposite side, as Locke's early clear is not exceptionally fast and they are vulnerable between camps when Q stacks are not yet set up on a target.
- The optimal location is their red or blue buff depending on their start — catching Locke in a tight jungle camp with no minions to reset E on is your best window, since without an E reset available Locke cannot disengage from your CC.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not walk into Locke's Q range repeatedly before engaging — letting Locke build up three Q stacks on you before you commit means their E-W combo will delete a significant portion of your health even through your tankiness, and the true damage from W ignores your resistances entirely.
- Avoid prolonged skirmishes where you are taking W true damage without being able to finish Locke quickly, as the healing Locke gets from recasting W can undo your damage lead if you fail to execute them before they recast.
