Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Naafiri's pack of Packmates gives her consistent poke and trade pressure that you cannot fully match early since your Determination stacks are low and your sustain from Q hasn't scaled yet.
  • At level 3 you gain access to your full kit (Q+W+E), which lets you attempt a full combo, but Naafiri's mobility and Packmate burst can punish your W pull attempt if she sidesteps or dashes out, making early trades risky unless you land W cleanly.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a massive AoE crash that can hit both Naafiri and her Packmates simultaneously, accelerating your Determination stacking significantly, and your revive passive makes all-ins far less punishing for you than for her.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to use W to pull Naafiri toward you when she steps up to last-hit or poke, immediately follow with E for the outer-edge bonus damage, then chain Q for the double-hit healing and knockup recast if she tries to disengage.
  • Avoid initiating with E first since it burns your escape tool and leaves you vulnerable to Naafiri's R dash-in counter-trade; W as the opener forces her into your melee range on your terms rather than hers.

Wave Control

  • You want to push the wave consistently to deny Naafiri the space to roam with her R, since her R is most dangerous when she can use it to collapse on a sidelane or follow a jungler.
  • Shoving also forces her to farm under tower where her Packmates are less effective at harassing you freely, and you can look for W pulls through the wave onto her when she goes to last-hit.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use E aggressively as your trade opener just because you see an opening — Naafiri's R gives her a long-range dash-in that can punish you immediately after your E lands, leaving you with no escape and no knockup ready.
  • Burning E offensively means you absorb her full combo with no way out, which negates the safety your revive passive provides since she can simply wait out your 4-second stasis and finish you.
