Pre-6, you lose the 2v2 if Maokai lands his W on you, as you have no escape and Sivir's sustained damage with spell shield negating Brand's setup makes extended trades unfavorable.
Post-6, your R completely changes the dynamic — your E becomes a dash to reposition or escape roots, your W becomes a slowing laser to peel Maokai, and your permanent Q splash punishes Sivir's wave-clear pattern.

Your best trading pattern is to stack your Q passively on minions before engaging, then use your E to close distance and trade with splash damage active, while Brand sets up his stun from range.
Avoid committing to trades when your Q stacks are low, as your damage output without the splash active is significantly weaker.

You want to avoid letting Sivir freely push with her E, as she will crash waves and deny you the extended fights where your Q ramp and R shine.
Instead, contest the wave early to keep it in the middle of the lane, and look for all-ins post-6 when your R is available to outmaneuver Maokai's roots.

Do not use your R defensively or hold it too long — it has a 15-second window and your E dash refresh is your primary tool to dodge Maokai's W roots, which are the single biggest threat to your survival in this lane.
