Who Wins
- You can trade evenly pre-6 by using ghouls to zone Illaoi from CS and matching her sustain with Q healing, but avoid fighting when she has E available.
- Post-6 you need to respect her R zone completely and focus on split-pushing rather than direct confrontation, as she wins extended teamfights around objectives.
How to Trade
- Set up trades by having 3-4 ghouls ready, then W to trap her and let ghouls deal damage while you Q for healing and damage.
- Never trade when she has E up unless you can immediately W to block her follow-up combo, as getting hit by E into W+Q will chunk you heavily.
Wave Control
- Focus on farming safely and stacking graves early, then transition to aggressive split-pushing with Maiden rather than trying to fight Illaoi directly.
- You want to create side lane pressure that forces her team to respond, as you can't match her teamfight presence but excel at 1v1 split-pushing.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't use W defensively against Illaoi unless you're certain you can escape, as she can simply E the wall and damage you through it with her spirit combo.
- Never group with your team against Illaoi's R unless you have overwhelming numbers, as her AOE damage will destroy grouped fights even when you're ahead.
