Who Wins
- You lose early trades levels 1-3 due to Aatrox's superior range and Q poke damage, but his cooldowns are longer than yours.
- At level 6, you gain a significant advantage with R engage potential and your E allowing you to trade favorably then escape his retaliation.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading pattern involves using E to engage, landing Q3 knockup, then auto-W-auto before using E2 to return to safety.
- Avoid extended trades without your E as Aatrox will out-sustain you with his passive and healing, instead focus on quick burst exchanges.
Wave Control
- You want to maintain the wave in the center or slightly pushed toward Aatrox to have space for E engages without tower interference.
- Avoid hard shoving early as this leaves you vulnerable to his Q poke when you step up for CS, instead focus on last-hitting and looking for E-Q3 trades when minions are low.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never use E aggressively when Aatrox has his full Q combo available, as he can land multiple Q hits while you're committed to the engage.
- Don't try to match his sustain in extended fights - your strength is in quick burst trades, not prolonged combat where his healing becomes overwhelming.
