Who Wins
- Pre-6, you have a real advantage if you can land Q through minions or force trades when your Q is stacked — Vladimir has no reliable escape and his W has a long cooldown early, so short aggressive trades where you hit Q and back off before he pools are favorable.
- At level 3 your Q-E-Q combo becomes a genuine threat, but if he pools your second Q you've wasted your window and taken free E damage, so you must bait W before committing.
How to Trade
- Post-6, the matchup becomes harder — Vladimir's R amplifies your damage taken and his sustain means he can survive your burst and heal back, while your R only provides a shield that doesn't offset his healing over extended fights.
- You need to kill him quickly with R into Q-E-Q before he can pool and recover, but if he has any HP advantage going into the all-in, you likely lose.
Wave Control
- Your optimal trade is to E onto him, immediately stack Q with a basic attack, then release Q before he can W — if he pools, disengage and reset rather than chasing, because staying in melee range while he's pooled means you're taking his passive damage for free.
- Never trade into him when he has full W charges and high HP; look for windows when W is on cooldown after he uses it to dodge a skillshot or escape a gank.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your E aggressively onto him when his W is available and he's at high HP — you'll burn your only mobility tool and he'll simply W your follow-up Q, leaving you stranded in melee range taking his passive procs with no escape.
- Avoid extended fights entirely; if your burst doesn't kill him, you are losing the trade due to his sustain.
