Who Wins
- Pre-6, you are not winning straight trades at level 1-2 — Yasuo's Q range and passive shield mean he can poke you safely, and you lack the sustain at very early levels to absorb repeated Q hits without falling behind.
- At level 3 the matchup stabilizes because your W lets you dodge his second Q in a combo, but you're still not ahead; you're surviving, not winning.
How to Trade
- Post-6, you have a clear advantage — your R into a sustained fight heavily favors you because your healing scales with the damage amplification, and Yasuo's shield from R doesn't compensate for the healing differential in a prolonged fight.
- If you R, W his burst attempt, and then re-engage once W is back up, he cannot kill you and you will out-sustain him to death.
Wave Control
- Your best trading pattern is to absorb his Q poke with W when he has it stacked, then immediately retaliate with your full E-Q-auto combo while his Q is on cooldown — he has no way to disengage from you in that window since his E requires minions or targets to dash to.
- Use W reactively to dodge his second Q in a combo, not proactively, so you don't waste it and leave yourself vulnerable.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand in a position where he can E onto you with no minions behind him to escape — if he commits to an all-in and you've already used W, you have no way to avoid his full combo and he will kill you before post-6 sustain matters.
- Avoid pushing the wave so hard that you're under his tower range with no minion buffer, as that removes your ability to punish his E path and leaves you exposed to his all-in.
