Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight against Udyr because your Q's three-hit knockup combined with E's knockback gives you burst CC that Udyr cannot match with his slower ramp-up damage and shields.
- From level 6, your R becomes a critical tool to isolate Udyr from his shields and knock away his positioning advantage, but you must engage decisively before he stacks his W sustain too high, as a prolonged fight heavily favors him.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Udyr most commonly runs a fast-clear full-clear path starting Red side into Raptors, Wolves, Blue, Gromp, then contesting scuttle around 3:15–3:30.
- He may also mirror-invade your Red Buff if he starts Blue side, so track his starting position early and adjust your path to avoid being caught in your own jungle at low HP.
Invade or Not
- You can invade Udyr at his second or third camp around 2:30–3:00 if you started on opposite sides, as your level 2–3 burst trades are favorable before he builds stacks and sustain.
- Target his Red Buff side early if possible, since denying his Red Buff delays his clear speed and dueling power significantly, but do not invade if he has vision of you or has already cleared to that side.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let the fight drag out past 4–5 seconds at any stage of the game, because Udyr's W sustain and repeated shield cycling will outlast your burst window and reverse the trade.
- Committing your E and Q combo without securing a kill or forcing a flash means you have no escape tool and Udyr can freely run you down with his movement speed.
