Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win any extended fight from level 2 onward because your Q-W-auto combo heals you, resets your auto, and knocks up Kennen before he can stack enough marks to stun you — the key is closing the gap through his Q poke, which requires trading through one or two pokes rather than backing off.
- Post-6, Kennen's R is a serious threat because the AoE stun can lock you in place, but your R displaces him out of it if timed correctly, so the post-6 matchup is winnable but requires precise R usage.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to wait for Kennen to push the wave or walk up to last-hit, then gap-close with E and immediately activate W before using Q to heal back the poke damage you took approaching — the sustained healing from W during the trade means you come out ahead in any fight lasting more than three seconds.
- Force him to either fight you at melee range where your damage dominates or burn his E to escape, then reset and repeat.
Wave Control
- Let Kennen push the wave into you early so the minion wave sits closer to your tower, which shortens the gap he needs to walk up and reduces the distance you need to cover with E to engage.
- Once you've won a trade or forced him to back, freeze the wave near your tower to deny him farm and create repeated all-in opportunities whenever he walks up.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not blindly E into Kennen when he has his R available and full health — he can immediately R after you engage, stunning you in place while his passive marks from the R proc a stun, and you will lose that fight decisively.
- Wait for him to use R in a skirmish or for it to be on cooldown before committing to a full all-in.
