LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you have a meaningful range advantage and your Q outranges Mel's Q, letting you poke her before she can retaliate effectively — however, Mel's E root threatens you heavily if she lands it, since you are immobile and her passive-empowered autos after a root deal real damage.
- Post-6, the matchup becomes more dangerous for you because Mel's R can execute you globally if she has stacked Overwhelm on you, and your R duel is weaker since she can reflect your charged Q back at you with her W.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to stay at maximum Q range and poke her during the brief windows when her W is on cooldown — never commit to a full combo if you see her W available, as she can reflect your Q back and negate your entire trade.
- Use your E to stun her from a distance and follow with a charged Q, but immediately back off rather than extending, because her E root into passive autos will punish you if you stay in range.
Wave Control
- Push the wave consistently with your Q to deny her the ability to freely stack Overwhelm on you through passive autos — a shoved wave forces her to focus on CS rather than poking, and reduces her opportunities to land E roots in open space.
- Avoid letting the wave sit in the middle of the lane, as that is where Mel has the most room to maneuver and land her E safely.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not fire your Q while her W is visibly active — reflecting a fully charged Q back at you is a massive health swing and can set up a kill for her.
- Also avoid standing still to charge Q when you are already marked with Overwhelm stacks, as she can detonate them with R from anywhere on the map if you are low enough.
