LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose the poke war at levels 1 and 2 because Xerath's Q simply outranges your Q and you have no reliable way to punish him before you have your full kit — your E at level 3 is the first real threat you have, as landing it lets you root him and stack Overwhelm with passive autos.
- Post-6, you gain a significant edge because your R can execute him globally if you have stacked enough Overwhelm, and your W hard-counters his Q, making him hesitant to commit to trades.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to bait out his Q by moving unpredictably, then punish with E into passive-empowered autos to stack Overwhelm — once he commits to a charged Q, use W to reflect it and immediately follow with your own Q for maximum damage.
- Never trade when your W is on cooldown, as without it you have no answer to his poke and he will simply outrange you.
Wave Control
- Let the wave push toward you early so you can farm safely under tower and avoid being poked in open space where Xerath's Q is hardest to dodge — once you have your W, you can start playing more aggressively because the threat of reflection forces him to respect you.
- Avoid hard shoving the wave yourself, as a pushed wave gives Xerath free poke angles while you are CS-ing under his pressure.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your W reactively on every ability he throws — saving it for his fully charged Q or his E stun is far more impactful than wasting it on a short-range poke.
- Also avoid stacking Overwhelm on him and then failing to follow up, as he will simply heal or back and your execute threat resets, wasting the pressure you built.
